The federation's position

The Uzbekistan Polo Federation is committed to clean sport and fair competition, and to protecting the welfare of its athletes, human and equine alike.

The rules below set out what the federation requires of every horse that plays.

Rules for horses

    Prohibited substances

    Any substance that alters performance, masks pain or affects a horse's behaviour is prohibited.

  2. 02

    Controlled medication

    Veterinary treatment is permitted only once its mandatory withdrawal period has passed before match play.

  3. 03

    Testing

    Blood and urine samples may be taken at any tournament sanctioned by the federation.

  4. 04

    Responsibility

    Owners and riders must consult a licensed equine veterinarian before giving a horse any feed, supplement or medication.
